County Roadwork on New Baldwin Road
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe New Baldwin Road (road in front of Ed Morse Jr Auto Dealership) is owned and maintained by St. Clair County but is within the corporate limits of the village. I talked with Norm Etling, County Engineer, regarding the road work in process. The county is “oiling and chipping” over the existing asphalt paving. Etling indicated they had some funds “left- over” in their budget to pay for the “oiling and chipping”. The road is an asphalt paved road that was built around 45 years ago in conjunction with the route 13 bypass project.
The village has no authority over the method of road maintenance or construction on roads that are not owned by the village.
