Citizen Marina/Campground Vision

In the past, our town has experienced many issues with the NA Marina/Campground area. It is a new year, and it is time to start fresh and do something about the grounds. Instead of all the negativity, it is time to do something very positive with the grounds and move on.
Recently, as I was taking a walk on the levee, a thought came to mind. A friend of mine and I had a vision for the whole campground and pavilion area. A vision that we can see happening with not much cost or work from the village.
Envision this:
• Riverside Park
• Benches facing the river so that people could have a seat and meditate and relax and enjoy the flowing river
• The pavilion with a few tables and an area for a band to play on weekends.
• An area in which food trucks could park while people are enjoying the band on designated weekends
• An area that is set apart for a small dog park
These are just a few ideas. It would be a great place to bring people together and put the land to good use. Our community seems to be deteriorating. We need to embrace the natural beauty of our town and focus on keeping it alive.
The mayor’s office appreciates the citizen sharing this vision and encourages others to do the same. The timing is good as the board is currently working on a comprehensive plan for the Marina.
