Living with Inflation
Your village team is working hard to save money in these inflationary times (averaging around 8%). Increases in insurance cost was one of the items we were concerned about. The team managed to recommend plans with current providers that had little to no increases in cost. One of our biggest challenges has been energy cost. Cost of gasoline, electricity and natural gas has increased dramatically.
Village Clerk Amy and Public Works Superintendent Chris has been working hard to conserve energy use through the upgrade to energy saving products and devices combined with governmental and Utility incentives and grants. A recent success has been the village wide installation of LED lights. Total project cost was $4,731.50 offset by an Ameren IL incentive of $3,181.50 resulting in a net cost of $1,550.
